The private trail film
The Knobview Trail
From the hardwoods to the open meadow, the walk that comes with the property. This film is sped up in the woods and slows to real time for the last stretch, so you arrive the way guests do.
Stabilized footage, filmed on the property in autumn. Sped up through the woods, real speed on the final approach.

Chapter four
Home by golden light
Walking speed, no speedup. The lodge sits on its hill and the afternoon sun hits the logs.
Walk it yourself
Trail guide
A cleared path through hardwoods, then out into open pasture with the lodge in view. The stretch in our film takes under two minutes at a walking pace, and much longer if you stop for the leaves.
- Land
- 30 private acres
- Surface
- Natural dirt, leaves, roots and grass
- Terrain
- Gentle hills, tree canopy, then open meadow
- Wildlife
- Deer and wild turkey
Wear
Closed-toe shoes with grip. In fall the leaves hide roots and uneven ground.
Best light
The hour before sunset. The meadow turns gold and the lodge glows.
Time
The stretch in our film is about two minutes at a walking pace. Allow much longer to wander the rest of the 30 acres and stop for photos.
Leave no trace
Pack out what you bring in, keep dogs leashed, and leave the woods as you found them.
Ticks and season
Check for ticks afterward. In November, wear bright orange during Kentucky deer season.
